We announced the new logo mark of “Nagoya, UNESCO City of Design” in the International Design Forum on Saturday 30th May 2015.
The logo mark designed by Mr. Akio Ogawa was chosen from 181 applications by the design competition for professional designers.
Concept of the new logo mark
The logo depicts an image that the UNESCO City of Design, Nagoya conveys to the world elements including design, design service, design education and design proposal.
The log consists of Nagoya’s first letter “N” and a message balloon.
In addition to serving as a formal logo, we sought to create a versatile icon which delivers our statements and messages using a balloon space.
